The journey of Sip and Stretch began in 2021 when I was invited to lead a couples’ yoga class for the New Year. At the time, I had never taught couples’ yoga before, but something about the invitation felt like a beautiful opportunity to grow and create something meaningful. I embraced the challenge wholeheartedly and put together a session inspired by the way I personally practice yoga at home—intuitive, mindful, and grounded in connection.
To my delight, the class was a resounding success. The energy in the room was light, open, and full of laughter—something just clicked. It was clear that this wasn't just a one-time event; there was something special here worth building on. That experience planted the seed for what would eventually become Sip and Stretch, a growing movement of intentional, heart-opening sessions that bring couples closer together in cities across the U.S.
What makes Sip and Stretch truly unique is its warm, inclusive approach to building intimacy—without pressure or pretense. Each session is thoughtfully designed to help couples slow down and reconnect, not only through movement, but through presence. With the added touch of sipping wine, the experience becomes even more relaxed and inviting. It's more than just a yoga class—it's a cozy, memorable evening that leaves you feeling lighter, closer, and more in tune with each other.
Where it All Began: Sip and Stretch

The Creator of Sip and Stretch:
Derdine Brown
Hi! I’m Derdine, a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and the founder of Sip & Stretch Date Night. As a first-generation Haitian American, my background has shaped a deep belief in the power of resilience, healing, and intentional living. I've seen firsthand how our mental, physical, and emotional well-being are all connected, and that’s what drives my work—creating experiences that support wholeness in every form.
Sip & Stretch grew out of that desire. With each session, I aim to offer couples a space where they can reconnect through movement, mindfulness, and lighthearted fun. It’s not about perfection or knowing all the poses—it’s about showing up for each other, unwinding together, and sharing a moment that feels refreshing and real.
Outside of my work, I love unrolling my yoga mat outdoors, soaking in the Florida sunlight, laughing with friends and family, and encouraging others to slow down and take care of themselves. My goal is simple: to help people feel more connected—to themselves, to each other, and to the life they want to create, one breath and one stretch at a time. Oh! and music! What is life without music :)
